What time can traders arrive to set up?
Traders can begin setting up from 8:00am each day. Food traders operating from vehicles must arrive between 7:30am and 8:00am to guarantee access to site.
What time do I need to be ready to trade?
All traders must be fully set up and ready to trade by 10:00am.
What time does the market finish?
Trading hours are 10:00am – 4:00pm. Traders must remain open until 4:00pm unless instructed otherwise by the Market Team.
Can stalls be left unattended or run by children?
No. Stalls must not be left unattended at any time and must be supervised and operated by someone aged 18 or over.
Can I leave my stall set up overnight if I’m trading both days?
No. For security and safety reasons, stalls, stock, and equipment cannot be left in place overnight, even if you are trading on consecutive days. All traders must fully pack down at the end of each trading day.
Can I change what I sell after my application has been approved?
No. Traders may only sell items declared on their application. Any changes to stock must be approved by the Market Team in advance.
Are there restrictions on what can be sold?
Yes. All goods, food, or services must be legal and appropriate for a public market.
The following are not permitted: Pirated or copyrighted materials; Age-controlled items; Potential weapon; Any items considered inappropriate by the Market Team, including material that may incite racial or sexual hatred.
Are there safety requirements for traders?
Yes. All goods, food, equipment, and services must be safe and must not present a hazard to traders, staff, or the public.
Do I need weights for my gazebo?
Yes. Traders using their own gazebo must provide a minimum of 10kg weight per corner. If a gazebo is provided by us, weights will be supplied by the Market Team. If your gazebo is deemed unsafe or inadequately secured, you may be asked to remove it and may not be able to trade.
Who is responsible for stall safety?
Traders are responsible for any damage, injury, or incident caused by their stock, equipment, or stall setup. All equipment must be safe and suitable for use.
Are there toilet facilities available?
Yes. There are toilet facilities on site which traders are welcome to use during the event.
Vehicles & Parking Can I bring my vehicle onto site?
You will not be able to drive directly to your stall location. Vehicles are permitted into the coach park, off Kings Street, for loading and unloading only. This will mean a short walk to your stall, and access is flat for loading. All vehicles must be moved out of the coach park by 9:30am.
Where do I park after unloading?
Once unloaded, vehicles must be moved to the main car park, accessed via Minster Street.
Is disabled parking available for traders?
Yes, but it must be booked in advance by emailing wilton@ourlocalmarket.co.uk. Spaces cannot be guaranteed without prior booking.
Who is responsible for waste?
Traders must remove all waste generated by their activities, including food waste, packaging, and unsold stock.
Can I use the bins at Wilton Village?
No. Traders must not use on-site bins. Your pitch must be left in the same condition it was found.
What happens if I leave waste behind?
Any costs incurred by the event organiser to restore the pitch will be charged to the trader.
